Hello! We are the School Counselors here at Brown Elementary.

We're here to support every student at Brown School. If you ever have any questions or concerns, or if there is anything that we can do to support your students or family, please send an email to Sydney Little (slittle@natickps.org) and/or Amanda Frost (afrost@natickps.org).

I'm Kristin Purnell, the School Psychologist at Brown Elementary.

What is a school counselor? 

School counselors are licensed educators who work to support the social, emotional, academic, and career success of ALL students. 

School counselors are core members of the leadership team of the school, and work together with other leaders to ensure that all students can thrive. 

School counselors partner with teachers and families to support every student, and serve as an advocate for families. 

School counselors provide small group and individual support when students need extra help socially and emotionally.

What is a School Psychologist?

School psychologists are licensed educators who work to support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. 

School psychologists are also core members of the leadership team of the school, and work together with other leaders to ensure that special education students can thrive. 

School psychologists provide small group and individual longterm goal focused counseling to students identified with a disabilty.
